First Event of 2015: Exposure

When we think of human trafficking our mind often wanders off to some foreign country, most likely a third world nation.

My heart particularly saw this issue in our area thanks to my small group bible study. A couple of weeks ago the small group I’m a part of at First Friends connected with a nonprofit in the Akron-area.

Together my group helped provide a meal and encouraging notes for women who are currently at Rahab Ministries. Rahab Ministries helps provide women with healing after they have been trafficked. This healing is both spiritual and physical.

It is hard to believe that a crime against humanity could be ongoing in our area. But the truth is even worse, often times it goes undetected.

That is why one of the first events of the New Year First Friends Young Adults is having is called Exposure. There we will discuss the truth about human trafficking in our area and globally.

Our goal is that not only people will attend and learn more, but take it a step further and want to join the fight against human trafficking.

At 6 pm on January 18th we will be watching a documentary and have discussions about this issue. Please also bring donations for Rahab Ministries.
